After studying the building of the Tabernacle in Exodus, our Bible Study/Faith Sharing group decided that we needed a visual aid to actually see the described items. We thought this would help us to actually see what the Tabernacle and its contents looked like in the wilderness. This Tabernacle pamphlet was a most helpful visual aid. We were surprised that everything was shown inside the Tabernacle as it was. The vestments information was also helpful to us. It is not always easy to imagine what things looked like when reading The Bible. We were so pleased with the visual descriptions. The pamphlet is extremely colorful and descriptive.
This gives beautiful 3d and cutaway graphics of the Tabernacle. In addition to making the Old Testament come alive since you can really understand the equipment and services of the Tabernacle, it also does a very good job of showing how the Tabernacle prefigures Jesus Christ's saving work. Once you get the basic structure of the Tabernacle in your head, which this book is very good at, you can easily understand the architecture and services of the Temple built by Solomon. Even the structure of the modern Church is quite clearly this same basic plan. There are many beautiful and clear drawings as well as charts that show a correspondence between each piece of the Tabernacle and Christ's mission on earth. This is my favorite little pamphlet that took my understanding of the Bible to a whole new level. Highly recommended. Solomon's and later Herod's temple are the same basic structure, just bigger and fancier. I think I would have preferred the Tabernacle - it's like a Native American sweatlodge! I would have loved to have camped around the tent which housed the very presence of God and moved when He did! Of course, as this pamphlet points out, because of Christ, we have the presence of God with us now with the Holy Spirit. An outstanding little book - great spiritual value for a minimal bit of money and time invested!

Although the subject matter is somewhat complex, the pamphlet is written in plain language that makes all the typology and symbolism very accessible. Moreover, this guide also walks the reader through the successive stages of the Tabernacle so you are better able to perceive and understand the meaning of different stages in the context of the whole.In my opinion, what makes this guide excel is not that it explains the intricacies of the Tabernacle itself, but it makes very plain how every piece of the ancient sanctuary points directly to Jesus. Also, each illustration comes complete with specific Bible verses making cross-referencing your Bible very easy.A Tabernacle Pamphlet: Symbolism in the Tabernacle is much more than just a Tabernacle map and contains a wealth of information in a very small and concise brochure. Certainly, this serves as a comprehensive guide to facilitate your own Bible study but I think most people will be well served to use this pamphlet in Christian education classes, Sunday school, and discipleship tracks.
The brochure is four color on glossy light card stock. Print is sharp. The right size for keeping with your Bible. Content is clear and understandable. The placement of the Levites, although correct is not as clearly defined as the placement of the other tribes. Very helpful though. It consists of 6 2-sided panels folded accordion style. It gives a thumbnail sketch of the various elements of the temple, starting with the Gate of the Court and proceeding on through Holy of Holies. It also contains a page giving a list of Old Testament Symbols of Jesus as associated with the tabernacle. Most of one page is devoted to the Ark of the Covenant. The picture of the High Priest and his garments is beautifully done. The brochure is decidedly designed with Christians in mind. It also gives a time line for the ark from 1450 BC to 500 BC. Plenty of scripture references for study and comparison. Because of its compact nature and the thoroughness of its coverage, I would recommend it to anyone wanting a reference guide. We have used it as a study tool for several weeks now and find it most helpful.
The Tabernacle pamphlet is a great addition to any study. The colorful illustrations bring new life to studying God's place of worship in the Old Testament. A very useful reference to get a visual understanding of what the Tabernacle looked like as it's described in the Bible.On the front, there is a three page illustration of the inside and outside of the Tabernacle with number bubbles that off to the right describe all the pieces of ceremonial worship. It also goes on to describe the type of construction, material, altars, and how each was used.The back side goes into detail about the Ark of the Covenant and its journeys through Israel's history, types of sacrifices made by the priests, a description of the job, clothes, and qualifications of the High Priest, a chart of symbolism which references how Jesus relates to us today through the old system of worship. There is even a full sized illustration of a high priest in full dress and descriptions for each of the ceremonial pieces he wore.The pamphlet measures 5.5" x 8.5" and folds out to about 33". It is very visually engaging and would be very helpful to have handy in a Bible class or in your own personal study.
