Younger readers as well as adults will find this story of interest, and it would be a great piece to add into a school's curriculum. A masterpiece of history and personal triumph woven together. The research in this book is astounding as is the approach to the younger reader. However, any adult can gain a new insight into an event that had an impact on civil rights.
I am a teacher and think this book should be required reading for students in all grades. It is perfect for Black History Month! My wife did not grow up in North America, and English is not her native language. For her it is interesting to read about this event in history, written in a language that is easy to understand with many explanations. Thank you!
