The first 26 pages could be summarized (like every other flip or REI book):"Hated my job, needed better lifestyle, met a dude who knew what he was doing w REI, I was broke but figured out a way to buy a house with a credit card down payment, it worked, get a team together, join a local club, motivational fluff, you can do it too."If you're interested enough to purchase a book you don't need to be convinced about the pros / or even briefly educated about the cons of REI.I wish he summarized pages 0-26 into 2 pages.The other info is decent but not what you can't get online. It's nice to have it all in one place though.Read: The Real Estate Rehab Investing Bible. More concise, and edited better.
The info seemed to be good, though the links in the book always lead to you having to add your email address to a list before seeing any of the information referenced. But that's typical.The think that annoys me about this book are the amount of typos. Published books should not have typos. It makes it seem sloppy and rushed, things you don't want to see when you're reading about how to invest large sums of money.
Too much fluff and 'pump you up' sales speeches. I want straight and to the point, I don't attend 'excitable' seminars and I don't want to read one either. I want content, I want depth, I want broad and focused perspective. I put it down because it wasn't a good use of my limited research energy and time. I bookmarked and re-read the J Scott book. Just got my first house at a screaming price, totally confident and comfortable, in the whole process. I'll make some money and the house will make a new owner a very happy home.

Good info to learn about flipping. There are lots of books out there on the subject but this inexpensive book is a great value. Lots of tips for little price make it a good purchase.
I am a relatively new flipper. Even though I have done about 10 flips, having the proper sequence of events is invaluable. I am an attorney, real estate broker, and a handyman. ( albeit a rather poor one). This book drives home the point that I should be focusing more on my investor hat than those other functions. This is the 6th flipping book I have read and is by far the best. I just put 2 flips under contract last week and plan on deploying these ideas immediately. Thanks so much Brant !!!
It felt to me that the first chapter can just be skipped, it all about author bragging about himself.(the way I read it).It get a bit better starting chapter 2.Well I chose the book for its low price tag, and usually you get what you pay for ;-)
Brant gave a lot of information in a good format so it wasn't like trying to drink from a firehose. He also shared his repair estimator to help figure out what needed cost wise so you could see if repairs in budget for flip. I felt he genuinely wants me to succeed not just sell more of his stuff to me.
